Thanking Indie Developers Day Nine: Artix Entertainment

by GH Staff

Artix Entertainment’s Adventure Quest lands on Gamer Headlines’s ninth spot in the on-going appreciation for indie game developers. While recognizing the creators, we also examine one of their completed games before November 1, 2014. Released in 2002, the massive multiplayer online Adventure Quest happens to be Artix Entertainment’s first project, a flash-based animated RPG in a fictional world filled with mystical to medieval folklore. Over time, the browser-based video game and others in their growing collection of published works have been dubbed as “Battleon Games” sometimes because of its domain name.

In 2009, the creator has released an expansion called “Warpforce” that basically acts like a sequel and continues the Devourer story arc. As usual, this expansion and the other role-playing games are free-to-play, but Warpforce goes beyond the traditional fantasy and adds a science-fictional plot. Regardless, each single-player storyline will level up the main character who can become more powerful by increasing stats and getting advanced equipment. In some cases, players can choose other races then being human.

Besides the brief introduction to the classic title, someone has written this thank you message:

“Thank you, thank you, thank you! While I have been playing this game since 2007 with a level 51 character that has an impressive equipment, I was bored at first because the artworks are in two-dimensional graphics or I’m getting used to the basic controls. Despite the uninspiring beginning, I eventually began to love this game for various reasons. Many things have changed, and they seem to keep changing every week. Thus, I’ve been sticking to this Adventure Quest like glue, which will make it hard for anyone to peel me away! Again, thanks for creating this marvelous game!”

Therefore, don’t forget to share the love for other indie game developers by using #ThanksIndieDev in twitter messages for this entire month! They’ll appreciate the warm gratitude and feel more energized!
