Thanking Indie Developers Day Three: Double Fine

by GH Staff

Gamer Headlines recognizes Double Fine Productions and their $3,336,371 (USA dollars) Kickstarter project called Broken Age; this episodic click-and-point adventure follows two teenagers who both desire to break their traditional setting. In one story, Vella Tartine is a young woman who lives in society that believes in sacrificing young maidens to the giant creature named Mog Chothra in exchange for not attacking the village. Meanwhile, Shay Volta has been living by himself in a large space vessel with an artificial intelligent computer taking care of him. Though these two individuals live separate lives, they will eventually encounter each other one day.

Some folks saw their dramatic first meeting in Act I when these personal computer owners either purchased or received a digital copy on January 14, 2014. Unfortunately, the first part left a terrible cliff-hanger, making folks anxious for the second part.  The creator promises to release the Act II sometime in the fourth quarter this year, but the final conclusion will arrive next year.

Choices

Besides the brief description, here’s a thank you message from a fan!

“The humorous and witty characters really make this whole experience much better! Although the main characters are genuinely the outcast in their own setting, it’s pleasing to actually see the conflict of having a boring and repetitive shelter life  as well as being raised in a society that’s closed-minded. While each person craves to change their traditional environment for the better, they soon begin to learn that sometimes changes can often lead to undesirable outcomes. I’m pretty sure that anyone can relate to either scenarios. Regardless what anyone says, this game just rocks! Therefore, thanks for creating a beloved masterpiece that really lifts up my spirits and hopes for future indie games.”
