A couple months ago Nintendo flaunted the transparent blue and red 2DS bundles to be released in Europe. That day the envy that many North American Pokemon fans had for their European counterparts grew to an astronomical height. Not only could they get steelbook versions of the games but a handheld that harked back to not only the Nintendo handhelds from a lot of our childhoods but also the original Ruby and Sapphire cartridges. It seemed like Nintendo had forgotten about its North American fan base; giving all the cool stuff to either the EU or Japan.
Quit the moping my North American friends for Nintendo has announced that we too shall be getting the transparent 2DS handhelds! That’s right, I said it, we are finally getting something rad to go along with our Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire games. Granted no bundles have been announced, nor any new preorder deals other than 200 potions (which is nearly useless if you ask me), but that doesn’t mean it isn’t exciting. That also isn’t to say we won’t see a bundle announced in the very near future though I personally wouldn’t place any bets on that.
Being released alongside the new Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire games, the 90’s nostalgia inducing transparent blue and red 2DS will have the standalone price of $99.99 so go preorder one now, what are you waiting for? Wait, what am I waiting for? I don’t have any time to lose, my inner child is begging for a trip to yesteryear!
