Blizzard have officially apologised for the incredibly rocky launch of World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor. In a post made on the World of Warcraft forums from community manager Nethaera, an apology was given as well as free five days of game time to all active subscribers as of November 14th.
Warlords of Draenor suffered a poor launch, with most servers having unbearable lag in both the Alliance and Horde starting areas on the new planet Draenor. Only the lowest population servers were safe from lag. Blizzard then reduced the cap size on all servers resulting in massive queue times for all realms. Blizzard have stated that the problem has been worked on over the entire weekend, with an incoming fix resulting in double the capacity of every realm in the game.
‘I also hope you’ll accept my apology and keep your faith in us. The support voiced by many of you as we worked through the challenges was immensely appreciated. We’re extremely grateful to be part of such a passionate community.’
Servers are now much more stable in World of Warcraft. Queues are still an issue on the very highly populated realms, but with the fix Blizzard have been working on, queues will be gone altogether and with the lag already fixed, everyone can start to enjoy Warlords of Draenor.
