Xbox Two Official First Concept Design Reveal

A new video has surfaced online supposedly showcasing the first “official” concept design of Microsoft’s follow-up to their recently released Xbox One gaming console.

Read more details on the supposed Xbox Two concept design and see the video after the break.

Is the Xbox Two First Official Concept Design Legitimate?

Video Transcript:

“It’s a mobile-first, cloud-first world. Everything is becoming digital. From concept to reality. Think of the opportunities being unbounded. We get every individual, and every organization to get more out of every moment of their lives. We’re going to come at this by innovating in every dimension.”

The uploader of the video seen, Soy Antonio, had the following to say about it:

“Microsoft clearly didn’t intend for this information to come out already, so the original link is now down. Not long after Sony’s PS5 announcement, Microsoft decides to take the next step in gaming by announcing the Xbox Two. Who will win the next console war?”

The obvious question is , “Is the Xbox Two design concept show in the video (and the video itself) legitimate?” The simple answer is a resounding, “No.

The supposed “Xbox Two” concept design and associated video is fake. The device seen in the featured image and video is actually a Hauppauge HD PVR 2 game capture device (which can be seen below).

Apparently, the creator of the video did some photo editing and the like in order to pass off the HD PVR 2 as an Xbox Two.

However, it does bring up a few pertinent questions on the subject of game consoles. Does the gaming industry need new consoles any time soon, especially with last year’s release of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One?

It seems as though gamers and game developers are still stuck in this awkward cross-gen stage, in which many are hesitant to leave the last generation of gaming consoles behind.

In any case, what are your thoughts on an Xbox Two? Is it necessary anytime soon? What improvements would you like to see Microsoft implement that you didn’t particularly like on the Xbox One?
