Sony unveiled today the Sony Xperia Z3 series of smartphones. Along with the announcement, it was revealed that they will be the only smartphones to offer PS4 remote play.
Up until this announcement, the only hardware that supported PS4 remote play was the PS Vita, so now having the ability of remote play from either the Xperia Smartphone or tablet is a refreshing feature for those who don’t wish to invest in the Sony handheld. The PS4 remote play feature allows you to connect your device to your PS4 console without having to use your TV screen. Despite the feature allowing you to take your PS4 gaming experience with you, it is heavily intended to be used within your homes. With the PS4 remote play feature, you will be able to use your Xperia Z3 device as a remote screen to connect and control your games on the PS4. For those times someone else is hogging the TV, or you simply have to go to the bathroom (because people do that right?) you will never have to miss a chance to game.
How To Play Your PS4 Games Remotely

Attaching your Xperia Z3 device and dualshock 4 controller to a GCM10 Game Control Mount will be the only way for you to play your PS4 games remotely, due to the console itself not offering touch screen support. The Playstation App will also allow your mobile device to act as a second screen, which in turn allows you to remotely watch the game play of your friends, communicate with your friends VIA the Playstation Network and to purchase and download games to your console.

The phone offers a 5.2″ full HD screen (or a more compact 4.6″) and the device itself is said to be highly waterproof and dust-tight. It offers a Snapdragon 2.5 GHz Qualcomm Quad-core processor with a 4G LTE modem. Sony claims to crafted the Xperia Z3 to be as efficient as possible, which means offering a battery that can last up to two days without needing to be charged. The device will also come equipped with a 20.7 megapixel camera that can record videos in 4K.
