[dropcap size=dropcap]A[/dropcap] few weeks ago, Respawn Entertainment announced the official release date for their future FPS game, Titanfall. According to the official press release, the game will be shipped to stores starting March 11 2014 in North America and March 13 2014 in Europe. Moreover, Titanfall will be available as a Collector’s Edition that will be sold for $ 249.99 and will include some extra items and features.

Titanfall Collector’s Edition will include:
– a 18-inch Atlas robot figurine
– a 190-page art book
– a poster featuring Atlas

Titanfall will be released at the same time for PC, Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Those who are already interested in the new first-person shooter developed by Respawn – Titanfall – have the opportunity to preorder the game through Origin, (the digital version), GameStop and Amazon. Fans of the game are able to place their preorders for the PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One versions.

Titanfall is a first-person shooter focused on multiplayer that allows players to participate in multiplayer online battles of 8 vs. 8 (maximum 16). There are two factions available in the game, each player being able to adhere to the one he or she likes. The battles however, will not resume at 16 players, as the map will be filled with more than one A.I. controlled enemies. Those who love the single player modes will still be able to play a Campaign with several single player missions and a story.

The game focuses on the conflict between the pilots of Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation and the Militia, a confrontation of people against robots in which players can control a Pilot – a soldier equipped with jet pack – or a Titan – a large and heavy military robot -.

An interesting aspect is that the game uses the Source Engine (new engines require a lot of time) and also, that Xbox One will have to use cloud computing services in order to get the full processing power required for playing the game. Somehow, it seems that Titanfall already exceeds the processing power of the “new generation” of consoles.
