Star Wars Battlefront 2 Releasing in 2017

EA has confirmed that Star Wars Battlefront 2, the sequel to last year’s Battlefront title, will be released in 2017.

Revealed during an EA earnings call, EA CFO, Blake Jorgensen, revealed that Star Wars Battlefront 2 will be released next year and will incorporate “bigger and better worlds” and will feature new content from the newest Star Wars films being released.

Also confirmed was EA’s plans to release a new Star Wars game every year for the next three to four years, with Visceral Games’ Star Wars title being released in 2018.

A reboot from the original series, Star Wars Battlefront was released in 2015 to commercial success with mixed critical reviews. The game focused on its multiplayer element, opting to omit a full single-player campaign. Whether or not Battlefront 2 will feature a more robust single-player mode has yet to be revealed.

Star Wars Battlefront is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Star Wars Battlefront 2 will be released at some point in 2017.

That seems a bit too soon. If they don’t include some single player content I’m still not interested.

But Battlefront 2 already came out… in 2005.

Battlefront was such a waste of time and money. Not interested in the least

Well when you make a game then tear 60% of it out to release as “post-launch DLC” at least you’re left with development time for the sequel…

I regret getting Battlefront, even with the deal I got on sale. I’ll pass this unless it comes with a lot of content right at launch.
