Nintendo NX to Release on March 2017

Nintendo has announced that their upcoming console, code-named NX, will be released on March 2017.

The announcement was confirmed in a press release by Nintendo (via Nintendo Everything), which confirmed the console’s release date. The press release stated:

Nintendo previously announced that it would release more information about its next system, code-named NX, this year. As the first announcement of any NX information, Nintendo confirmed that NX is scheduled to launch in March 2017. NX will not make an appearance at the upcoming E3 video game trade show in Los Angeles in June and will be unveiled later this year.

As revealed in the quote above, Nintendo also confirmed that NX will not be making an appearance at this year’s E3 2016, but will be revealed later in the year.

Nintendo first made mention of NX last year confirming that the company would share more information on the console in 2016. Many fans of Nintendo and various media had speculated that Nintendo would release NX at some point in late 2016 before today’s release date confirmation.

They are missing the 2016 holiday season and not showing the NX at E3? Those are some very strange business decisions.

Agreed. Very odd move on Nintendo’s part.
