Jurassic World Sequel Director Announced

Universal Studios has recently announced the director for the sequel to 2015’s Jurassic World.

Comingsoon.net is reporting that the director for Jurassic World’s sequel will be J.A. Bayona, director of the 2012 release The Impossible. Bayona was originally committed to directing the sequel to World War Z, before leaving the project and opting to direct Jurassic World’s sequel instead.

The new film will be written by Colin Trevorrow, co-writer and director of the first film, and Derek Connolly, who also co-wrote the first film, and is being described as a different project from Jurassic World that will explore “our relationship with these animals and about animals in general and the dynamic created by bringing them back to life.”

Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will also be returning to reprise their roles from the first film.

The sequel to Jurassic World is currently scheduled for release on June 22nd 2018.

Jurassic world isn’t the first film. Its the fourth film. It is a sequel. Not a remake or a stand alone film.

I agree. I think people are just referring to it as ‘Jurassic World’s sequel’ since World started a new trilogy.
