What are your thoughts on microtransactions being featured in Gears of War 4? Do you think the report on the PlayStation 4.5 ‘Neo’ console is true? Let us know in the comments!

If the Neo thing is true it will be the biggest shot in the foot Sony has fired since “599 US dollars”. It breaks one of the biggest advantages of consoles – uniform hardware.

Nobody wins from the introduction of this PS4K. The developers would now have to optimise for two systems, which will inevitably lead to one of the versions being butchered. The retailers will have to explain which games work on the Neo and the basic model of the PS4 will become harder to sell. Early adopters will get an inferior version of games and will be at a disadvantage unless they pay up another 400$. This will also damage Sony’s reputation and if released this year it will compete for marketplace with PSVR.

As a total this is a horrible proposition.

Excellent post, man! Totally on point with how I feel. It would be a terrible idea for Sony to pull off.
