PlayStation TV, Sony’s streaming box designed for the PS4, is getting a price cut in the UK, after only four months of being on sale.

Originally released at a retail price of £84.99, SCEE has confirmed that it has been dropped to £44.99 – that’s 47% less.

According to, a Sony spokesperson said “Starting from the 27th March, PS TV will offer even greater value for money when it becomes available for only £44.99. Now with an even more accessible price, you can benefit from the advanced features and technology that PS TV brings to your home entertainment experience.”

PlayStation TV was first launched in the UK in November. In case you didn’t know, the device allows users to play select PS Vita, PSP and PSOne titles directly through the device; perfect for those of you who have always wished you could see some of your favourite handheld titles on the big screen. Just make sure those games are compatible with PS TV. The device can also stream PS4 titles to another TV within the same home.
