Quake Live

A large update for Quake Live has been released. The update is entitled Update 22 and adds nine brand new maps, steam trading cards, one renovated map, a new in-game medal, announcer voice over updates and some UI and code updates. For a full list of what Update 22 brings to Quake Live, check the source link at the bottom of the article.

The steam trading cards include eleven unique cards that can be traded, sold and collected like all other steam trading cards. Map rotation has also been changed, with the monthly standard map rotation system being removed.

‘We are retiring our Monthly Standard Map Rotation system, all maps are now free for all users at all times. All maps (with the exclusion of Small CA and large Terra maps) are available on public servers, including newly released arenas, and come up for vote in the end-game subscriber voting portal.’

Quake Live was released way back in 2010, but only became available on Steam in September 2014. The game uses a free to play model with the option of a subscription for more features. If you’re interested in Quake Live you can check out the steam page.
