Nintendo has confirmed that select Amiibo figures will be discontinued after their initial shipment.

Last weekend, Video Games Plus, a Canadian retailer, confirmed that Nintendo would be discontinuing some of the Amiibo figures that have been released. Specifically, the Canadian retailer stated that the Marth, Villager, and Wii Fit Trailer Amiibo figures will no longer be produced.

Game Informer reached out to Nintendo for a response on select Amiibo figures being discontinued, and the company replied with the following:

“We will aim for certain amiibo to always be available. These will be for our most popular characters like Mario and Link. Due to shelf space constraints, other figures likely will not return to the market once they have sold through their initial shipment.”

For those collecting this first wave of Amiibo figures, be warned that some may no longer be available once they are sold out.

At the moment, six more Amiibo figures are due out later this month, with a second wave of figures being released this upcoming February.
