Sony San Diego revealed their upcoming free-to-play game, Kill Strain at this weekends Playstation Experience 2014.
Kill Strain is a “fast-paced, highly addictive” competitive multiplayer action according to their developer, Sony San Diego. Sony San Diego’s senior director of product development Christian Phillips also revealed that the game was “built from the group up’. Though the game will release as a free-to-play game, Phillips has also revealed that unlike the majority of free-to-play games, Kill Strain will not punish players. This most likely means that the game will not offer micro-transactions or payments in order to advance in the game.
The game’s gameplay will have players play in teams. The game will feature a five vs. two vs. five team structure. At first glance, the game might sound like a MOBA like DOTA 2 or League of Legends though due to the additional team of just two players, it will be interesting to see how Kill Strain differentiate itself. The game is currently accepting beta signups here.
Kill Strain is set to release some time next year, 2015 and will be available exclusively on the PS4.
