The Game Awards 2014: Dragon Age: Inquisition Wins Game of The Year

by GH Staff

To conclude the 2014 installment of Geoff Keighley’s video game awards event, The Game Awards, the most prestigious award of the entire night, “Game of the Year”, was given out to BioWare’s recent RPG Dragon Age: Inquisition

It doesn’t come as a surprise that Dragon Age won the award, receiving massive praise from multiple big name media outlets that praised the game’s immense world, story and characters. It currently sits in with a Metascore of 86 on Metacritic.

Also, Dragon Age: Inquisition had a strong showing throughout the event; winning the “Best Role Playing Game” category and with Lindsey Stirling performing a piece of the game’s score on a violin. You can check out her beautiful performance right here.

The other nominated games for the award consisted of Bayonetta 2, which well-deserved its nomination, Dark Souls II, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft and Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, which is one of 2014’s sleeper hits.
