In order to get customers in the mood for the holiday season, it appears that UK-based video game retailer GAME has released a free video game about shopping.
You read that correctly, the game in question is aptly titled Christmas Shopper Simulator (free download available here) and is an obvious parody-within-a-parody of the ridiculous and popular Goat Simulator.
According to the game’s “launch trailer,” Christmas Shopper Simulator allows gamers to “buy things,” “turn left,” and “look at a tree” among other similarly amusing shopping activities.

GAME launches Christmas Shopper Simulator
According to GAME’s official press release, Christmas Shopper Simulator offers “15 minutes of fun, complete with 100% more escalators than FIFA.”
In addition, “Director of Shopping Simulation Development” Fred Prego stated the following in regards to the title:
“At GAME, we are passionate about two things: gaming and shopping so, in our first foray into game development, we’ve combined the two. Whilst we have games that prepare us for zombie invasions or Premier League football matches, there is nothing to get us ready for the equally daunting experience of Christmas shopping – and we’re very proud to have filled that gap in the market.
Of course it’s ridiculous, but it’s so brilliantly addictive we can’t believe someone hasn’t made it already! One warning though: Christmas Shopper Simulator can feel so realistic that you might believe you have already done your Christmas shopping. You haven’t. Don’t forget to go shopping for real!”

Christmas Shopper Simulator was developed in collaboration with Freakstorm Games and is available from Game.co.uk’s website for both PC and Mac platforms.
