Bungie has confirmed that players will be able to transfer their Destiny character into Destiny 2.
Though Destiny 2 has yet to be titled or formally announced, Bungie has confirmed gamers will not lose their Destiny character when Destiny 2 comes out.
During an interview with IGN, Bungie Community Manager David Dague had the following to say:
“For Destiny 2, the idea is that the Guardian that you have created is something you can bring along with you on that adventure.
“If you take a look at the way people have played other games for a long period of time, they’ve had a relationship with the same character for a very long time.”
Previously, Bungie had announced a ten-year plan for Destiny, which included four entires in the series to be released before 2023 and DLC to be released between each of the four entries. Bungie has so far released the first entry in the series and has announced two major expansions of the game titled The Dark Below and House of Wolves.
For those wanting to begin their journey, Destiny is currently available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. The first expansion for the game, The Dark Below, will be released tomorrow, with the second expansion, House of Wolves, releasing sometime in 2015.
