Released on November 14, 2014, This War of Mine has delivered an overall positive performance for Steam players and has generated 346 reviews with 339 (thumbs up) and 7 (thumbs down). Unlike other survival war games about soldiers facing an invading army or defending their lives in a hostel territory, 11 Bit Studios’s survival indie game provides a different angel or perspective. Instead of controlling a super soldier, players will control a group of civilians who are living in a besieged city. Here’s the official trailer for a sneak peek at the graphics and gameplay:
Inspired by real-life events,This War of Mine has implemented a day and night cycle. During the day, a snipers outside will stop the player’s controlled character from leaving the refuge. Therefore, players must think outside-the-box and maintain the hideout, while crafting, trading and taking care of some survivors. During the night, players will choose one of the civilians to accompany the leader on a mission to scavenge through a set of unique locations for items that will help the group stay alive.
