Time to download the mandatory 2.02 PS4 firmware update
After last weeks optional 2.01 PS4 firmware update which fixed the PS4’s Rest Mode issue, Sony has just released the 2.02 PS4 firmware update which is mandatory for all PS4 owners. Sony has stated that the new 2.02 PS4 firmware update will improve system software stability while using some PS4 games, features and apps.
This update and last weeks 2.o1 update where both released in order to response to issues gamers have encountered since downloaded the huge 2.0 update during late October. This update introduced many features including the ability to upload videos to YouTube, choose between seven different theme colours as well as download official themes and introduce Share Play which allows players to pass control of their game to players via the internet, although this is limited to 60 minutes before you have to start a new session.
While the 2.0 firmware update introduced a ton of new features players ran into several bugs including the Rest Mode issue, which prevented the console from waking up after being on standby. Gamers also complained about having issues uploading videos to and using YouTube.
