Sega has confirmed earlier today that they will be releasing more 3D Classics for Nintendo 3DS in early 2015.
Sega has detailed that Nintendo 3DS owners will be able to purchase new 3D Classic titles and that each will be priced at $5.99/€4.99 /£4.49. The following titles have been confirmed to be released starting in early 2015:
- 3D After Burner II
- 3D Fantasy Zone
- 3D OutRun
- 3D Fantasy Zone II
- 3D Thunder Blade
The order of release has yet to be decided, but Sega did confirm that they will start off with 3D After Burner II and that the rest will be released on a monthly basis. Sega of America President John Cheng offered the following to say on the announcement of these new 3D Classics:
“These games were completely re-built to offer a robust 3D experience that offers more modern gameplay while still keeping true to the original. These are the best versions of some of our most unforgettable games and playing them is just like sitting in an arcade machine.”
Back in 2013, Sega announced they would be converting select classic Sega titles to 3D for the Nintendo 3DS. They eventually released their first wave of 3D Classics that included titles such as 3D Streets of Rage, 3D Super Hang-On, and more. This marks the first announcement of new 3D Classics since that initial first wave of titles.
