Rockstar are “urgently looking into issues” where players can’t transfer their GTA Online characters

While your waiting to transfer your character, there’s still a single player world to explore.

Earlier today on Rockstars support page they said that they are currently investigating issues where players are unable to transfer their GTA Online characters from the last gen versions of GTA 5 to the just released PS4 and Xbox One versions.

I haven’t played GTA Online since 2013. When I try to transfer to PS4 or Xbox One, it says “No previous Grand theft Auto Online data is associated with your Social Club account.” I then tried to go back and play GTA Online on PS3 or Xbox 360 to verify, but it says the Rockstar services are unavailable. Help!

We are urgently looking into an issue preventing character transfer and GTA Online login on accounts that haven’t played GTA Online since 2013. If you would like to receive an automatic email notification as soon as there is more information, please log into the Support Site and click Subscribe at the top of this page. Apologies for any inconvenience caused, and thanks for your patience.”

GTA 5 launches today on the PS4 and Xbox One and players should be able to transfer their GTA Online characters and progression from the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, and the next-gen version can support up to 30 players online. Rockstar also recently announced that they’ll be releasing the long-awaited Heist missions in the next online update.
