When Will We Finally Get a Fallout 4?
It has been 6 years since “Fallout 3” was released, leaving fans with plenty of time to forget about the popular franchise. However, “Fallout 4” is still one of the most anticipated game releases by gamers everywhere.
Although there have been plenty of hoaxes and rumors about “Fallout 4”, the game developers have remained silent about what to expect in the popular post apocalyptic role playing franchise. Even the slightest bit of verifiable news and information has been limited.
However, the hopes of gamers everywhere skyrocketed when Bethesda filed for the trademark of the Fallout Universe’s Pip Boy device with the United States Patent and Trademark Office in early November. Could a “Fallout 4” be on the horizons?
Since there has been a ton of false information about “Fallout 4” circulating online, several players were a tad suspicious about the news. However, this time it is different. Bethesda took the time to confirm the news via a tweet.
Bethesda posted the following, “Not a hoax. our filing. just protecting our trademark. also helps in dealing with infringement stuff.”
Bethesda also went ahead and divulged the reason they had purchased the series from Black Isle Studios. According to Pete Hines, a representative of Bethesda, “The whole reason we went out and acquired the license and that we now own Fallout is that we clearly intended to make more than one. This is not something we’re going to do once and then go away and never do it again.”
Hines went on to say, “When that will be or how long that will be God only knows, but we acquired it specifically because we wanted to own it and develop it and work on it like we did with The Elder Scrolls.”
Other than that, not much has been said about the possible release of “Fallout 4.” There have been a few clues, such as earlier this year Todd Howard, Bethesda game director, told Rock, Paper, Shotgun that there was no timetable set for game announcements. However, he did state that it could take a good bit of time before one was actually developed.
Fans of the “Fallout” series, can only hope and wait for an announcement regarding “Fallout 4”. Will that announcement be made in 2015?
