It seems that a new translation from one of the past interviews with Hideo Kojima, Metal Gear Solid creator and director, has confirmed that players who visited Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes’ American black site Camp Omega will be able to return to the location in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
According to Metal Gear Informer, Kojima’s initial response was “a bit unclear at the time” when a question regarding Camp Omega was asked during an interview with journalist Geoff Keighley on Twitch, and this was mainly because his translator, Ken Mendoza, misinterpreted the Japanese developer’s explanation.
However, JunkerHQ took the liberty to revisit the interview and retranslated what Hideo Kojima had said on Twitter, revealing that players who own the prologue will be able to revisit the title’s location in The Phantom Pain.
“People who own [Ground Zeroes] will be able to play a different mission(s) at Camp Omega in [The Phantom Pain],” JunkerHQ tweeted. “That’s the current plan. There’s something of a big feature involved. It’s never been done in the games industry before. So I can’t go into detail about it, but I think when you experience it for yourselves you’ll be surprised. It’s something that’s only possible through video games.”

Ground Zeroes, which has now been reduced to a retail price of $19.99 by publisher Konami last month, was released earlier this year in March and lays the foundations for protagonist Big Boss’ next chapter in The Phantom Pain, with the soldier emerging from a 9-year coma following the events of the prologue.
Running on Kojima Productions’ Fox Engine, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is rumoured to launch in Q1 of 2015 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
