Hyrule Warriors DLC: Twilight Adventure Mode Map Guide

The Twilight update for Hyrule Warriors is here, and free of vampires that sparkle in the sun! Right from the start, players will unlock the ability to use Amiibos to grant them rewards, including a new light weapon, the spinner, for Link. Amiibos unlock random treasures everyday, but only for the first 5 Amiibos you use. Oh, you also get access to a new character, Twili Midna, the darkness elemental Dominion Rod for Zelda, Postman outift for Link, Ilia costume for Zelda, level cap of 150, 20 more skulltulas, new potions, a 999 cap on materials, and an adventure mode map filled with costumes and 8-bit weapons, which I’ll discuss after the break.

For those who skipped the tutorial, remember that you need to win the battle on red portals to be able to use them, and you’ll need an Oocoo item card to warp.

torch The new lantern cards can be used on torchs (pictured left) to reveal hidden enemies, use jars on switches, fishing rods to fish (if it wasn’t obvious), clawshots in places you used the hookshot, and use the spinner on cog-shaped holes to reveal secrets.

To clear a Twilight zone, you’ll need to use a Tears of Light item card. To note, you don’t have to clear twilight, it just adds some restrictions (your map doesn’t reveal exact locations for important enemy NPCs, no items, no magic bottles, that sort of thing). It also doesn’t clear after beating the mission.

GameFAQs has links to most of the costumes here for those who want to make sure the cool factor is worth the effort. The current map is quite punishing and requires quite a bit of grinding, so I won’t be quite as in-depth as past guides.

Also, this guide assumes you’ve learned a few lessons from the past Adventure mode maps, but if not, check my guide on the original map plus Master Quest map. All characters should be at least level 50 to start, and I highly advice you to have a 420 weapon. These battles quickly become quite challenging!

A4- 8-bit weapon for Zant (Magic boomerangs). Search the overworld, then beat the mission with an A ranking.

A6- Costume for Ghirahim (from the second Skyward Sword battle). Search the overworld, then complete the mission with any rank.

A12- 8-bit weapon for Agitha (Rupee). Search the overworld, then beat the mission with an A ranking.

B3-Costume for Midna (Yellow-veined). Search the overworld, then complete the mission with any rank.

B5-Costume for Volga (Black and red “Lu Bu” themed). Search the overworld, then complete the mission with any rank.

B7- Costume for Fi (White). Search the overworld, then complete the mission with any rank.

C3- 8-Bit Weapon for Link (Raft for Gauntlets). Search the overworld, then beat the mission with an A ranking.

C9- Costume for Zant (Phantom Zant). Search the overworld, then complete the mission with any rank.

C11- Costume for Agitha (Pink). Search the overworld, then complete the mission with any rank..

D9-Costume for Impa (Skyward Sword outfit). Search the overworld  and use a lantern on the torch to reveal the enemies, use a water bomb on the rock/boulder, then complete the mission with any rank. This is one of the first reward missions that’ll really test your skill/level. You may not need a high rank for the reward, but you do need to beat the mission at the very least.

Pay close attention to who needs support and be ready to move out as soon as you hear a call for help. You’ll need to decide if they can wait till a point where they need healing or if their health is dropping too quickly. You’ll need the boss key as well, so you have to get the water fairy so you can unlock the barrier unless you want to snipe enemies from outside.

D13- Costume for Zelda (A Link to the Past themed). Search the overworld and use Tears of Light to clear the twlight. Use digging mitts on the obvious X on the ground, then complete the mission with any rank.

This one can be a bit tricky, so make sure you have a 420 weapon and are about level 60 at the least. My Zelda was 90, so it wasn’t too bad for me, but a bit slow. I recommend taking base in front of the oncoming enemy captains to help slow them down, but also so they can deal a little damage to help you out. Having 3 special bars available also helps you blast arrows through tons of enemies, so consider investing in some badges if you haven’t already.

E4- 8-bit weapon for Lana (Magic rod for the Spear). Search the overworld and use digging mitts on the obvious “X,” then beat the mission with an A ranking.

E5- 8-bit weapon for Midna (Red ring). Search the overworld, then beat the mission with an A ranking.

E13-Costume for Lana (Link themed). Search the overworld and use Tears of Light to clear the twlight. Place a jar on the button marked in the picture below, then complete the mission with any rank.

F3- Costume for Cia (Lana themed). Search the overworld, then complete the mission with any rank. Getting here is easiest if you take the portal from C13.

F11- Costume for Wizzro (Big Poe themed). Search the overworld and use a jar on the obvious button on the lower left side. use a lantern card on the “torch” (looks like a pedestal to me) on the bottom right side, then complete the mission with any rank. You can also clear the twilight with some tears to make it easier, but the mission isn’t that hard and requires no A rank, so I wouldn’t waste the tears.

F13- Costume for Sheik (Skyward Sword Imp).  Search the overworld and place a jar on the button to reveal the secret, then complete the mission with any rank. To speed things up, there are turncoat leaders in the Southern Tree, Eastern Tree, and the Deku Tree. Don’t ignore the Rally Captains like you might have before, unless your Sheik is really strong.

However, to even get to F13, you need to use a claw shot from G13 by searching the area and using the claw shot card on the target, then clear the mission with a B ranking.

G4- Costume for Link (Pipit themed). Search the overworld, then complete the mission with any rank.

G5- Costume for Ganondorf (HW true-form themed). Search the overworld, then complete the mission with any rank.

H5- 8-Bit weapon for Ganondorf (Keys). Search the overworld, then beat the mission with an A ranking.

H7- Costume for Ruto (Rutela themed). Search the overworld and use a jar on the button (and Tears of Light to clear the twilight, if you want), then complete the mission with any rank.

H10- Costume for Darunia (Darbus themed). Search the overworld and use a bomb on the boulder and a lantern on the torch, then complete the mission with any rank.

  • Darkhylian

D13- Costume for Zelda (A Link to the Past themed)

You are wrong : this costume is Hylda’s from A Link Between World !

    • Marandahir

Incorrect. Hilda’s outfit was on the Master Quest Map. Zelda’s Blue dress, unlocked here in the Twilight Map, is based off of official artwork of Zelda in a blue gown from A Link to the Past.

Is there a restriction to just the basic Deku Spear for E-9? I can’t get it to let me challenge it, it keeps saying I need to unlock more in either legend mode or other adventure maps. I only have Kokiri and Faron Spears now, so I’m worried it might be locking me into using just the Tier 1 weapon, hence why I can’t seem to play it.
