Blood Dragon 2 isn’t coming with Far Cry 4? This makes me want to punch a nuke!
Oh, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, you were the 80’s action movie I’ve been needing for so long. It’s a shame that you aren’t going all-the-way 80’s and making 10 progressively-worse sequels to yourself.
On second thought, maybe it’s for the best.
You heard it here first and read it here second, folks; according to Ubisoft-employed Creative Director Alex Hutchinson, we shouldn’t get our hopes up for a Blood Dragon 2.
“That’s what was cool about [Blood Dragon], it was surprising… It was a great use of the Far Cry 3 base, and had an awesome soundtrack. But no, you won’t get another one of those. But hopefully we’ll be able to surprise you with something just as much.”
I’m more surprised by the fact that Ubisoft outright denied any sort of sequel to a financially-successful franchise. And here I thought the sole purpose of publishers was to run a horse to death and beat it yearly for 60-70 bucks.
Are you happy they aren’t going to ruin Blood Dragon with countless sequels? Or are you like me, painfully aware that Elephants in Far Cry 4 are basically re-skinned blood dragons in of themselves and not caring one way or another?
