In the midst of all the week-long online Black Friday deals and the door-busting insanity ensuing after the traditional Thanksgiving day dinner, there are bound to be a few individuals that overlook the fine print on the aforementioned Black Friday deals.
For example, the Microsoft Store is currently having a pretty sweet deal on their popular Xbox One console this Thanksgiving and Black Friday holiday, with the system being cut down to $329 from it’s already discounted $350 price tag. However, there are always those that want the most savings they can get from their Black Friday purchases, and look to other sources, such as eBay, to see if they can get their desired product for an even better price. The thing is, it doesn’t always turn out the way one expects it to turn out.
Case in point: An individual looking at and subsequently bidding (Note: There were 18 bids in total) on a particularly attractive Xbox One eBay listing won the auction with a bid of £175, which is approximately $275. Pretty good buy, right?
It would be if it was for an actual Microsoft Xbox One console, however what the bidder may or may not have known (more likely the latter), is that the product he was bidding on was NOT an Xbox One console, but the box that the system comes in.
That’s right, someone paid $275 for an Xbox One BOX, not the actual console…the box it comes in.

Judging by the description, it appears that the seller made it pretty clear that the particular item being sold was just the Xbox One BOX.

How so many people missed the not-so-fine print of the item’s description is beyond comprehension, UNLESS one looks at the possibility that the seller changed the product’s description near the end of the auction. However, that is simply a possible explanation, and may or may not be the actual case – especially since eBay locks in the product’s description as the listing gets close to its end time.
Update: Judging by the listing’s item specifics, it appears as though the seller advertised the item as the actual Xbox One console.

In any case, it’s either the fault of eager, yet ignorant Black Friday shoppers or a scummy eBay seller. Regardless, when you go shopping this holiday season, make sure you’re well-informed and aware of what you’re actually buying. You’ll probably be much more satisfied in the long run.
