Ubisoft’s Tetris Ultimate will be released in North America on November 11th
While the upcoming Tetris revival is coming to all next/current gen consoles, today Ubisoft has announced on their blog that Tetris Ultimate will be coming to the Nintendo 3DS first. The game will cost $19.99 on the eShop and you’ll also be able to buy a physical copy for $29.99.
All versions of Tetris Ultimate will have six modes in it while the 3DS version will also come with an exclusive single-player Challenge mode and the six modes are:
- Marathon: In Marathon you’ll have to complete 15 levels as fast as possible.
- Endless: Endless like its name suggests will see you wiping out as many lines as possible with no time limit.
- Ultra: In Ultra you’ll have to score as many lines as possible in a 3 minute time limit.
- Sprint: Sprint is like Marathon except you have to clear 40 lines as fast as possible.
- Battle: Battle will let you take on up to three other players in pure Tetris action.
- Battle Ultimate: In Battle Ultimate you can take on three other players while using power-ups to trip up the competition.
Finally in the 3DS exclusive single-player Challenge mode you’ll have to be wary of disappearing and orientation locked Tetris blocks as you’ll be trying to wipe out as many lines as possible while adapting to the changing blocks.
Since Tetris first became big on Nintendo’s Gameboy Classic, it great that the Tetris revival game is coming to the 3DS first, although it is interesting to note that only the 3DS is getting a physical copy and even then isn’t more expensive than the digital copy.
Tetris Ultimate will be coming to the 3DS first on November 11th in North America and won’t come to Europe till November 14th. Tetris Ultimate will also be coming to the PS4, Xbox One, PC and the PS Vita sometime in Winter, but only as a digital download.
