Telltale Games has recently revealed that players will take on the role of five characters in the upcoming Game of Thrones series.

Speaking with International Business Times, Telltale Games’ vice president Steve Allison discussed how the style of storytelling is going to evolve from past Telltale Games titles starting with Tales from the Borderlands and continuing with Game of Thrones:

“We always will evolve our story telling toolkit from game to game based on the needs of each franchise and the creative decisions we’ve made. Tales from the Borderlands adds multi-protagonist storytelling for us layered into the tailored narrative design established with The Walking Dead and it works amazingly well with two playable characters.

“In Game of Thrones we’re taking that multi-protagonist design even further with five playable characters from the same family whose choices affect everyone in the family, and that adds a whole new layer to things that we’re really excited about.”

Telltale Games had recently re-confirmed that Game of Thrones is still scheduled to premiere before 2015 without going into specifics on when exactly that will be. Also scheduled for a release before the end of the year is Tales from the Borderlands.
