Space Engineers

Early access sandbox game Space Engineers is free on Steam this weekend. The game will stay free until October 13th, so if you’re interested in Space Engineers, now is a great time to download and jump in. The download will set you back 1.4GB of hard drive space.

Space Engineers is a sandbox game set in space. You can build many different structures in real-time using different parts. Your character is given a jetpack so he can navigate the world and explore, You can then mine rocks and other things for resources and minerals to start building your structures. The game features co op and multiplayer, and also features a creative mode, which lets you spawn unlimited resources and build to your heart’s content. A survival mode has been in development since the summer of 2013.

Space Engineers is currently in early access and has been since it’s alpha release in October of 2013. The game has sold immensely well, with 600,000 copies sold as of July 2014.

Space Engineers is also on sale until October 13th at 40% off. That makes the game £8.99 or your regional equivalent. Regardless of your opinion on early access, it’s worth downloading Space Engineers and giving it a try. Who knows? Maybe you will like the game and end up buying it while it’s on sale.
