by GH Staff

The PlayStation Blog has been updated with new information on the upcoming PlayStation 4 2.0 firmware update.

The new blog post reminds readers that the new update will feature YouTube support, themes, and Share Play, but then goes on to describe a few other features never before announced.

The following are addition features being added to the PS4 once the 2.0 update goes live:

  • USB Music Player
  • Change background colors
  • Friend Suggestions
  • Enhancements to Broadcasting
  • Redesign of Content Area and Library
  • Enhancements to Voice Commands
  • The ability to add PS Plus games to your library without downloading the game
  • Back Up Data

While the blog post did not give a release date as to when this update will go live, the post did promise more information on the 2.0 update to be given at a later time.

This marks the first significant update to the PlayStation 4 since the system’s launch almost a year ago and looks to be a promising one.
