After a year of resting on Steam Shadow Warrior comes to the PS4 and Xbox One tomorrow
Tomorrow will see the release of Flying Wild Hogs Shadow Warrior on the PS4 and Xbox One. The game which was originally supposed to be released on September 26th is a re-imagining of 3D Realms 1997 cult classic title.
The game stars Lo Wang who at the start of the game is set by his boss to acquire a legendary katana from a collector. The deal goes south very quickly and Lo Wang gets captured and caged. Long story short the compound gets attacked by demons and Lo Wang has to become the reluctant but smart mouthed hero and save the world from a demon invasion.
Players who are fed up with playing serious faced modern day shooters will be happy to hear that Shadow Warriors plays like a love letter to the Doom era of gameplay. To survive in the world of Shadow Warriors you’ll need to be constantly on the move, firing at enemies and closing in to strike them down with your katana. Cover will have limited use since most enemies will try to rush you down too so playing Shadow Warrior like a modern shooter will get you killed…. a lot.
Along with your trusty katana, Lo Wang is an also very skilled with conventional weapons including revolvers, quad barrel shotguns, Uzi’s and laser guided rockets and these weapons are upgradable too. Along with upgrading the power and speed of your weapons, you’ll also be able to add new alternative firing options. On top of the katana and other weapons you’ll also be able to learn what the game calls Mystical Powers, which will allow you to protect yourself and paralysis your enemies for example.
Shadow Warrior will be out on the PS4 and Xbox One tomorrow for $39.99. The game is also on Steam for $39.99 and you can get it here.
