RPG Highlands needs $5,000 in Five Days at KickStarter

by GH Staff

For individuals who love fantasy, warfare, and strategy, Burrito Studios has launched a crowd-funding campaign for HIGHLANDS; in this indie project, players will control the heirs of a prestigious family who must reclaim their homeland in the beautiful clear skies. As such, folks will be facing numerous enemies in a turn-base system, while defending or abandoning certain sectors to create new front-lines. While confronting tough assailants, they must also manage resources. Here’s a short video to see scenes of the gameplay:

After watching the 2D artwork and the unique gameplay from the video, this preview provides a good first impression, which explains why some folks have already contributed $15,725 in Canadian dollars. However, the developer is still short from reaching their targeted goal of $20,000. With $5,000 short and five days left, they have added a special tier called “Rally for the Cause”; this pledge promises to give the following things to investors:

  • Thank You Postcard signed by the Burrito Studios team
  • Your name in the credits
  • Private Beta
  • Digital Copy of Highlands for PC, Mac, and Linux
  • Digital artbook
  • Original soundtrack
  • Unique desktop wallpaper
  • Digital burrito
  • ***Unique KickStarter side-story called “The Old Man and the Sky”

All of these things will only cost $50 CAD, and the developer will surely appreciate the contribution. As a quick reminder, this action/adventure game will arrive for the PC, Mac, and Linux in early 2015. To support the campaign, please visit the KickStarter page.
