Rooster Teeth, or more specifically one of their employees, Meg Turney, has been subject to Twitch’s recent crackdown on inappropriate clothing, or lack of clothing entirely.

Known for her high quality cosplay and saucy lingerie photos alongside excellent journalism for Rooster Teeth’s news show ‘The Know’, Ms. Turney isn’t a personality known to have issues with showing off body parts that would make your mother look twice at your monitor. She was caught in Twitch’s crosshairs following a set of major changes to their ‘Rules of Conduct’, prohibiting streamers from using underwear shots in their profile pictures, and showing topless nudity during streams, regardless of gender. It’s the former new rule that has been run afoul, after it became apparent that her cover photo depicted her in lacey shorts and a bra – which Twitch requested her to change.

The crackdown on sexy has been spurred by a mountain of complaints from users of the service, claiming that too many streamers are gaining popularity for reasons other than the quality of gameplay footage and commentary. And as the service grows larger each day thanks to the growth of eSports and user discontent with Youtube, a need to ‘clean up’ the service is seen as long overdue by observers.

In a statement about the changes, Twitch had this to say:

Dress…appropriately Nerds are sexy, and you’re all magnificent, beautiful creatures, but let’s try and keep this about the games, shall we? Wearing no clothing or sexually suggestive clothing – including lingerie, swimsuits, pasties, and undergarments — is prohibited, as well as any full nude torsos, which applies to both male and female broadcasters. You may have a great six-pack, but that’s better shared on the beach during a 2-on-2 volleyball game blasting “Playing with the Boys.”We sell t-shirts, and those are always acceptable. #Kappa

After the initial shock and horror wore off, Meg Turney has been treating the situation with her trademark bubbly sense of humour on Twitter, retweeting tweets that joked about the situation, and starting the #TooHotForTwitch as a sort of in-joke for other streamers who have also been affected by Twitch’s new “Rules of Conduct.”

Ms. Turney has since taken the appropriate action, albeit in a slightly humorous manner, and changed her Twitch account picture.
