Nokia had a little success with Nokia X model. So they decided to release the Nokia X2 in order to improve and provide more features such as a bigger better, faster processor, a better camera, and a capacitive button featured on the display.

Sizes, Displays, and Designs

Each Nokia models has a curved body with removable shells that come in several colors. For the predecessor, it features a matte finish and for the successor a glossy finish. The X2 comes with rounded corners, and power and volume button feature on the right side. The Nokia X features the same design with one capacitive home button, and a back button found on the Nokia X2.

At 129 grams, the Nokia is lighter, with 115.5x63x10.4mm dimensions and IPS LCD 4 inch display on the front panel with 480×800 pixel resolution with 233ppi pixel density. It has a two finger multi-touch display which can be improved.

The Nokia X is heavier at 150 grams, is covered in scratch-resistant glass, with 121.7×68.3×11.1mm dimensions. The X2 comes with a 4.3 inch IPS LCD display, but low 480×800 pixel resolution with 217ppi pixel density.

OS and Hardware

The predecessor runs on a 1GHz dual-core Cortex-A5 coupled with a Qualcomm MSM8225 Snapdragon S4 Play chipset and an Adreno 203GPU. The X2 improves with a dual-core Cortex-A7 supported by a Qualcomm MSM8210 Snapdragon 200 chipset which clocks at 1.2GHz and an Adreno 302 GPU.

The Nokia X only provided a 512MB RAM while the Nokia X2 has double the RAM capacity. Both provide a 4GB internal memory storage and is expandable up to 32GB with a microSD card.

Each device runs on Android-Jelly Bean with the Nokia X running on v4.1.2 and the X2 on v4.3. The Nokia X2 also has a proprietary OS 1.0UI that can be upgraded to 1.1.2.2, and Nokia X on 2.0 UI.

Camera

Nokia X provides a poor 3.15MP rear camera that lacks LED flash and autofocus, but are featured on Nokia X2’s 5MP rear camera. The Nokia X2 provides a ¼’ sensor size, geo tagging, and touch focus, while the Nokia X has a 1/5” sensor size, with a panorama, and face detection.

Battery

Nokia provides a removable battery with decent capacities of 1500mAH and 1800mAH, which for the Nokia X provides up to 10 hours of talk time, and the Nokia X2 has a 13 hours of talk time.

The Nokia X and Nokia X2 can be found on Amazon.com for around $120 and $149 respectively.
