Back in 2009, a small video production studio, Hive Division, released a full-length Metal Gear Solid fan film, Metal Gear Solid: Philanthropy. The movie was 70 minutes long and based on Hideo Kojima’s beloved Metal Gear Solid franchise.
Naturally, Hive Division started planning a sequel in 2013, entitled Metal Gear Solid: Philanthropy Part 2. Unfortunately, progress on the MGS follow-up came to a halt in October 2014 because of licensing issues.
Fortunately for MGS fans worldwide, a small piece of the Metal Gear Solid: Philanthropy Part 2 project survived. Hive Division has recently released a scene from the project, titled “The Land Where Truth Was Born,” which is now available as a 12-minute short film.
The aforementioned MGSP2 scene was originally planned to be used a promotion tool for a crowd funding campaign to finance the completion of the full Metal Gear Solid sequel.
