Warhorse Studios, the game development studio behind the successfully Kickstarted medieval role-playing game, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, recently revealed a large number of interesting details regarding the game in an in-depth, 14-minute-long video update.
Notable points made in the aforementioned video range from Kingdom Come: Deliverance’s new combat mechanics to development team’s motion-capture process.
In the video update, Warhorse Studios’ co-founder, Daniel Vavra, also announced that the Kingdom Come: Deliverance alpha is slated to release on October 22nd (today!) through Steam Early Access for backers of the game.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance Tech Alpha Live For Backers
In regards to Kingdom Come: Deliverance‘s Early Access alpha, Warhorse Studios is very clear in describing the build as an early, “technical” alpha, the following comes from the game’s official website:
“We proudly present you the Tech Alpha version of Kingdom Come: Deliverance. This is a very important milestone for Warhorse Studios as it gives us the first chance to show you what’s already been created and what we are aiming for. At the same time also providing us with the first chance to get direct feedback from you! Your feedback is very important to us in the following steps of development.
Seeing videos and screenshots is nice, but touching and feeling the interactive piece with all your senses is way better. Therefore backers with the Baron Tier and higher will get the chance to meet Henry and experience his life in 1403.
Usually Alpha version means that you get a finished game with plenty of bugs, rough edges and missing parts. We would like to approach the Alpha early access phenomenon a bit differently. So how will our Alpha look like? Our Alpha version is more likely a Technical Alpha!“
There is currently only one village with a few quests to get players acclimated to the game’s “flow” and mechanics. There is no combat in the alpha because the team is still performing motion capture for the various movements. A host of other features (that will be in the final build of Kingdom Come: Deliverance) will be missing in the initial Early Access alpha – such as riding on horseback.
However, Warhorse Studios will update the build every 2 months, adding/improving features and increasing the size of the interactive area. As Kingdom Come: Deliverance approaches beta. the game will most likely transition to a proper Early Access state, however – at this time – only backers will be able to access the game’s alpha build.

For those who are unfamiliar with Warhorse Studios’ Kingdom Come: Deliverance, it is a medieval role-playing game set in Central Europe during the 15th century.
The game emphasizes historically accurate and realistic content. Kingdom Come: Deliverance will be a single-player game, complete with branching questlines. Warhorse Studios has stated that the game will feature a highly interactive world with a focus on emergent gameplay. The game is said to feature historically accurate armor and clothing, realistic combat techniques, as well as real-world castles recreated with the help of architects and history experts.
Soundtrack aficionados are sure to appreciate the game’s music, as it will contain period music performed and recorded by Czech masters that were transposed note for note from actual medieval song books.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance is scheduled for full retail release sometime in late 2015. The game will be available on Microsoft Windows, OS X, and Linux. Additionally, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions have been confirmed, albeit releasing at a later date.
You can read more about the game at Warhorse Studio’s official website here.
