In previous articles, we introduced the cross-over collaboration of Hover: Revolt of Gamers and Urbance, mentioned the opportunity to reserve a digital copy of the hybrid game, and announced that Steambot and Midgar Studio representatives are hosting a Reddit AMA Live Chat session on October 25. Now, we’re please to confirm that Hover: Urbance Edition will be released not only on the PC, Mac, and Linux but also on the popular Wii-U, XBox One, and PS4 systems. However, the wonderful news won’t go into action until the mature animated series project called Urbance at Kickstarter has been successfully funded in less than nine days. Here’s a sneak peek of the show:
If Steambot acquires the necessary financial support on time for this creative title, the developers (Steambot and Midgar Studio) can get started on Hover: Urbance Edition; this crossover unique parkour/role-playing game will allow future players to control the main characters like Lesya and Kenzell (from Urbance) to roam around Hover’s futuristic urban setting. Because it’s an add-on, folks who already purchased Hover: Revolt of Gamers can acquire this downloadable content for $20 Canadian dollars from a standalone tier on the Urbance page at Kickstarter. However, audiences who didn’t purchase the Hover game can acquire it through another available tier called “Gamerz Pack”, which also includes the high definition pilot episode. If the whole campaign is successful, the game will be delivered sometime in November 2015.

Previously, they needed $100,000 in twenty-two days left. Currently, they have $121,584 Canadian dollars, but they’re still $67,417 short, which is 35% needed to reach their targeted goal of $189,000. Remember though, they plan to distribute these funds to complete the production of a pilot episode. After completion, this pilot will be presented to broadcasters, investors and festivals as an independent artistic vision that will stand as the ground base of a full TV series with Transmedia developments. Additionally, they also plan to use the money for the following things:
- Increase the quality of animation (and bring Hiroshi Shimizu — of Studio Ghibli‘s fame— on board!)
- Help offset the current production costs
- Produce exclusive music with AAA artists
- Manufacturing costs for backers’ rewards
Don’t forget that time is running out, so make sure to call or talk to a friend about it! To support this crowd-funding campaign, please visit the KickStarter campaign. For more information, please visit the official website.
