343 Industries has announced that Halo: The Master Chief Collection has gone gold, and has also announced a hefty day one update.

The day one update will be 20GB which according to 343 Industries was necessary to implement as the game took up most of the single 45GB blu-ray disc space.

The day one update will focus primarily on more content features, including multiplayer elements, to supplement what’s on the blu-ray already. Gamers will, however, be allowed to start the single-player campaign as the update installs.

Also announced was a change in release date for some territories outside of North America. The title will now be released on November 11th for Europe and North America and November 13th for Japan.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is a brand new compilation package being released in anticipation to Halo 5: Guardians. The collection will include Halo 1 – 4, along with access to both the Halo 5 beta and the Halo Nightfall digital series.

Halo 2 will be receiving an anniversary edition (similar to 2011’s Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition) that will see the game remastered to HD quality in honor of it’s 10 year anniversary.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be released on November 11th for North America and Europe, and on November 13th in Japan. The title is exclusive to Xbox One.
