Halo 2 Anniversary: Comparison shots of Blur’s impressive cinematics

30 More Years of Halo, 343 Industries GM Bonnie Ross Says

As a preface for those who aren’t familiar with the upcoming Master Chief Collection, it is a game collection that combines remastered versions of all existing Halo games, from the original to 4.

One of the games in TMMC receiving a noticeable graphical overhaul (to say the least) is the 2nd in the beloved series, which celebrates its 10th anniversary on Nov. 9, and is aptly titled Halo 2 Anniversary for the collection.

H2A has received a complete visual overhaul thanks to 343 Industries. Furthermore, 343i has brought in the graphical wizards over at Blur Studios to redo the game’s cinematic cutscenes for the Anniversary edition, upgrading every memorable scene from the game.

This is not Blur’s first rodeo however. The visual effects studio has done similar work on many prominent game franchises, including Star Wars, Far Cry, and the Batman: Arkham series.

Check out some impressive screenshots comparing H2′s original cutscenes to those from Anniversary after the break.

In related news, Rob Semsey, PR lead for Bungie, teased something on Twitter (here) yesterday, stating that there was a surprise to revealed to fans today. As it turns out, the aforementioned tweet was teasing a new cinematic launch trailer for H2A, which showed off some Blur’s stunning and impressive cinematics for the game.

The Master Chief Collection will release on November 11th.

As previously mentioned, it will include remastered versions of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, 2, 3, and 4, alongside their multiplayer modes, as well as their full set of add-on content.

Additionally, The Master Chief Collection is also being developed by 343 Industries/Bungie, and will be published by Microsoft Studios, exclusive to Xbox One.

What do you think of the comparisons between H2A’s original cutscenes and Blur’s overhauled ones? Are you excited for The Master Chief Collection? Why or why not?
