Today at the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival the first expansion for FFXIV entitled Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward was officially announced at the opening keynote, along with this new teaser trailer:
The news immediately broke out on Final Fantasy XIV’s official Twitter account, along with information that Heavensward will see the level cap raised to 60, will take adventurers “to Ishgard and beyond,” will introduce huge open field areas and a new playable race, and brand new jobs. The expansion will be released Spring of 2015. Screenshots of some of the new environments posted on the Twitter can be seen below:
The Twitter account also promises that while details are currently sparse, more information will be made available at theĀ Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival in London next weekend.
