This end of the year is going to be a good one for Ubisoft. At least that’s what Yves Guillemot, CEO of Ubisoft has foreseen for the future of the company.
It’s true that as the year ends, the wallet of the players grows thicker. And what better way to spend it than in the brand new games that will be released during the last months of the year. With the release of both The Crew and Far Cry 4, respectively the 2nd of December and the 18th of Novemeber, Mr Guillemeot has every reason to be optimistic. A busy fall for a happy CEO. And that’s without talking about the new Assasin’s Creeds.

This poor guy might feel a bit left out of the forecasts
So let’s break down the numbers: for the CEO of the french video game publisher, Far Cry 4 is going to be a massive success with sales previsions as high as 6 million copies sold in the first year of commercialization. A number that would put it’s older brother Far Cry 3 right in its crosshairs. But as a little reminder, the previous title sold that many copies between its release on December 2012 and May 2013, in just 6 months. Not so optimistic after all.
Far cry 3 at this date has been sold nothing less than 10 million times. Is the major game publisher getting cold feet? What could make someone like Yves Guillemot risk himself so cautiously on the release of one of its flagship titles? With Ubisoft in the torment after the not so little polemics arisen by some ready-tongued developers, these numbers might actually be all in all a safer bet.
