Previously we reported a rumour that Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes had a PC release date of December 18 announced by the big boss himself, Hideo Kojima, at IgroMir 2014. However, today on PC Gamer this rumour was reported to be true via Konami, so rejoice PC Gamers, you will soon be able to crawl through the hairy jungles of Cuba and become involved in a den of intrigue and thirty minute movie-quality cutscenes.
Konami also has stated that the PC port will have additional features for those with the rigs to support it, including 4K resolution support, an increased number of simultaneous light shadows, more simultaneous models and an increased shadow resolution. Essentially this means that when Phantom Pain comes to PC you can experience Quiet’s assets in higher resolution.
The Steam page for the game has yet to be updated with the release date, but for those not in the know, here’s how Ground Zeroes fits into the Metal Gear Solid 5 oeuvre:
