A number of Samsung smartphones are getting the Android KitKat 4.4.4 and one of them is the Galaxy Note 3. The update was just rolled out by the South Korean tech giant two weeks ago and among those devices that will be hit by the new operating system are Galaxy S4, Galaxy Grand 2 and Galaxy Note 2. Those devices that have already been updated are Galaxy S5 and Note 3.
What the New OS Will Offer
The Android KitKat 4.4.4 has a plethora of new features to offer to those who use the device with the latest version of the operating system. The update will offer improved performance, new features and better, polished design and to be specific with the Galaxy Note 3, it now offers international Wi-Fi calling, HD voice icons, Knox 2.0, Kids Mode, security patches and many others.

The KitKat updates started early this year in the U.S. in selected devices, specifically for Android v4.4.2. The v4.4.4 followed and was rolled out first for the Galaxy Note 3, S3, S4 and S5 and as days passed, the KitKat updates flowed through with more and more devices that will be hit by it.
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 KitKat Update
Those who will get the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will surely fall in love with the device which takes pride of its brilliant HD screen, great performance and now with the most updated version of the Android operating system that promises easy operation with just one hand. The Samsung Galaxy Note 4, its successor, has been unveiled last month and it is said to hit the carrier stores very soon.
If you are currently using the Galaxy Note 3, you would know if the Android KitKat 4.4.4 is already available because you will be sent a system notification. Once you receive it, all you need to do is just tap the prompt saying ‘Download Now’, then choose ‘Install Now’. For manual installation, what you’ll need to do is go to Settings > More > About Phone > Software Updates > Check for Software Updates.
The Android KitKat 4.4.4 is expected to be the final KitKat version of the OS as it makes way for the Android L which is rumored to be called the Android Lollipop v5.0 that will be made available next year.
