Will Ferrell’s “Super MegaBlast Max Gamer Challenge!” is underway, as the comedian plans to raise funds for cancer charities.
Challengers Welcome! Actor, comedian, and anchorman, Will Ferrell, is planning to raise money for cancer charities by flexing his gaming muscle. In partnership with Donate Games and Cancer for College, Ferrell’s Indiegogo campaign hopes to raise $375,000 USD in donations. Everyone who donates will be entered into a drawing, with the grand prize being an all-expenses paid trip for two to San Francisco on October 26th to play games with Will Ferrell on a Twitch live stream.
In addition to the grand prize, each donation tier has other rewards for those who donate. If you donate $10 dollars, backers will receive a $5 Amazon credit toward a video game, as well as gain entry for the main prize. Other prizes will include t-shirt, autographed controllers, Will Ferrell Sunscreen (no joke), and the highest tier $5,000 will fund a college scholarship for cancer survivors.
Donate Games founder Jim Carol says, “To expect some surprises as well. We’re going to be working with Twitch to do one of these a month. Every month we’ll have a celebrity. At the end of the day, we’re here to change the game of cancer forever for these young kids.”
Ferrel’s involvement with Cancer for College dates all the way back to college, when his friend Craig Pollard founded the charity. This relationship lead to the “Super MegaBlast Max Gamer Challenge.”
