If you’re a fan of Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead or The Wolf Among Us, here’s an exciting news tidbit for you. According to a couple tweets from the official Telltale Games Twitter account, release months for PS4 and Xbox One versions of those popular series has finally been revealed. The Walking Dead seasons one and two will arrive sometime in October, while The Wolf Among Us is slated to hit store shelves the following month. Both complete series plan to have PS3 and Xbox 360 retail versions as well, but release frames for those platforms have not been announced.
If that’s not enough for you, popular retailers like Amazon may hint at exact current-gen arrival dates, however. If listings are to be believed, The Walking Dead season one could be released on October 14th, with season two following shortly after on October 21st. The Wolf Among Us on the other hand, could arrive as soon as November 4th. The best news of all is, each game is expected to have a very reasonable $30 price tag.
Historically, Telltale series have suffered from a myriad of performance problems on PS3 and Xbox 360. Between stuttering, glitches, and game-breaking freezes, there’s definitely room for improvement in these current-gen builds. Other than being ported, there’s no official indication of what features the PS4 and Xbox One versions will contain. It’s assumed that all games will run much smoother at a 1080p/60fps rate, but that has yet to be confirmed.
