Nintendo isn’t really known for releasing demos for first-party Wii U or 3DS titles, however, the company seems to have broken the status quo by releasing a game demo for Super Smash Bros. 3DS on the Japanese eShop a few days prior to the Japanese release of the game.

Gamers itching to play Super Smash Bros. on their 3DS are sure to wonder whether or not the demo is going to stay in Japan, or migrate over to the North American/European Nintendo 3DS eShops. Only time will tell.
Yet, considering the significant amount of hype Super Smash Bros. for both 3DS and Wii U are getting, some relevant news is sure to surface sometime soon.
Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS is set to release on September 13th in Japan, October 3rd in North America/Europe, and October 4th in Australia.
The Wii U version of the game is expected to release sometime during Holiday 2014.
What are your thoughts on this news? Does it have you drooling over the prospect of possibly playing a Super Smash Bros. demo, or are you patiently waiting on some official news from Nintendo? Are you hoping that Nintendo will release a Wii U demo of the game sometime in the future? Will you play the game on 3DS or Wii U?
