Retailer GAME has confirmed that the launch of EA Sports’ FIFA 15 in the United Kingdom will be supported by footballers from the Barclays Premier League, Championship and Scottish Championship.
Running from 3 PM – 5 PM on September 25th, Liverpool’s midfielder Jordan Henderson is set to appear at GAME’s Liverpool Lord Street store, whilst Tottenham Hotspur’s centre-back Eric Dier will be entertaining FIFA enthusiasts at the Stratford store on the same day. Additionally, GAME also announced the Stratford store has freestyle footballers preparing to dazzle fans through a range of skills and tricks.
Further appearances by well-known footballers will take place between 3 PM – 5 PM on September 25th, including Newcastle United’s Paul Dummett (Newcastle Eldon Square store), Reading’s Adam Federici (Reading Oracle store) — one of the two footballers on this tour not playing in the Premier League, with the other being Danny Wilson — Birmingham City’s David Edgar (Birmingham Bullring store) and Hull City’s David Meyler, Liam Rosenior and Tom Ince (Hull’s Stephens Green store).
“FIFA 15 is going to be a winner with both football and gaming fans alike and with such a top line up, we’re expecting big crowds,” said Dave Howard, stores director at GAME. “We know how important it is to fans to get gaming as soon as possible so we’ve got our staff match fit to open over 300 of our GAME stores at midnight so gamers can get their hands on it as soon as the whistle blows.”
Danny Wilson, who plays for Scottish side Hearts, will finish off GAME’s tour across the UK at the company’s Edinburgh St James store on September 26th between 3 PM – 5 PM.
With the release of FIFA 15 imminent, EA Sports have been enticing fans over the past few months with more details regarding the latest instalment in the franchise, including the official soundtrack (set to feature brand-new tracks by Avicii and The Ting Tings), the 50 best player ratings (Barcelona’s Lionel Messi and Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo are some of the more notable names), the 20 fastest footballers (including Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale and Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang) and, more recently, the 10 Best Defenders in the title (featuring FC Barcelona’s Gerard Piqué and Juventus’ Giorgio Chiellini).
FIFA 15 is scheduled for launch on September 23rd in North America, September 25th in Europe and September 26th in the UK for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Nintendo 3DS, Wii and PC.
