Today, during Sony’s Pre-Tokyo Game Show presentation, Masachika Kawata, the producer of Resident Evil: Revelations, announced some very exciting regarding the Resident Evil franchise. Following a leak on Xbox.com for Resident Evil: Revelations 2 last month, Kawata-San officially revealed, with a short teaser trailer, that the sequel is, indeed, real and will be coming in Early 2015 in Japan. Revelations 2 will not feature Jill Valentine or Chris Redfield, the first installment’s protagonists, as it will be set in a brand new setting. Unfortunately, Kawata-San did not mention the systems on which this title will be released on or a release window for Western territories.
The original Resident Evil: Revelations debuted on Nintendo 3DS in 2012 and was ported in high definition on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U and PC a year later.
What do you think of this announcement? Are you excited to a brand new Resident Evil game that will involve new characters and a new setting? Let us know in the comments below and, as always, stay tuned to Gamer Headlines for all things gaming.
Update: Capcom has later confirmed that the game will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
