Slightly Mad Studios is looking to make its game Project Cars into 1080p/60fps for the Xbox One and PS4. This seems to be the goal, although they’re not quite there yet. As with every development process, things will take time and risks. Slightly Mad Studios already has an ambitious name, so it must be going in the right direction.
According to Eurogamer’s interview with Slightly Mad Studio’s Andy Tudor, Andy told them that “on Xbox One, it’s not quite 1080p at the moment.” This didn’t represent what the final quality looked like. “[…] During development it’s a roller coaster. Sometimes you look at the game and think oh god, that’s not working, that’s not working. But other days you hit 60fps, and it’s awesome.” As with any game, it seems to be all about optimizing and finding the bugs in order to work towards a common goal. This goal is to make the graphically enhanced Project Cars.
Some of what Project Cars has to feature are its vast library of cars, over 60 unique tracks, and will be Oculus Rift compatible. One of the biggest highlights is the career mode, where you create your own driver and choose a specific motor sport to participate in. Although some games force you into lower tiers to build your way up, Project Cars gives you the full stock to jump right in and get ready to race. That’s something we can get a part of, considering most racing games made you start with those unfortunately slow cars that nobody wanted to start with. Project Cars looks to be community based, with a Facebook page updating those racers on upcoming events and more online multiplayer to race other players. Project Cars is expected to be released on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on November 18th in the US, November 21st in the UK. A Wii U and SteamOS version are in the works, but have been pushed into 2015. So Wii U users rejoice that you will receive this game at some point!
